Hi Ajax Experts,

I have got a problem with my first Ajax Application,
Actually this below simple code seems to be ok ,
but it's not working..

Apparently The Problem might be in my web server,
when i make a plain/Text file "test.txt" and
put "hello world" in it , and change with "time.asp"
which has located in the code , everything will be
fine, but when i make "time.asp" and put these
codes:

<%
response.expires=-1
response.write(time)
%>

it's not working , the error message in IE browser is
"System Error: -1072896748"

on this line: document.myForm.time.value= xmlHttp.responseText ;

In my opinion the web server (IIS6) cann't
run a server-side code by Ajax way, but
nothing is wrong with any stand-alone ASP APP,
Or a type casting would be necessary in the assignment ..

Any Help will be appreciated..

Although This Code has been gotten from
http://www.w3schools.com/

-------------- The Main Code -------------
<html>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">

function ajaxFunction()
{
var xmlHttp;
try
{ // Firefox, Opera 8.0+, Safari
xmlHttp=new XMLHttpRequest();

}
catch (e)
{ // Internet Explorer
try
{
xmlHttp=new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP");

}
catch (e)
{
try
{
xmlHttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");

}
catch (e)
{
alert("Your browser does not support AJAX!");
return false;
}
}
}

xmlHttp.open("POST", "time.asp",true);

xmlHttp.onreadystatechange=function()
{
if (xmlHttp.readyState==4)
{
document.myForm.time.value= xmlHttp.responseText ;
}
}

xmlHttp.send(null);

}
</script>

<form name="myForm">
Name: <input type="text" onchange="ajaxFunction();" name="username">
Time: <input type="text" name="time">
</form>

</body>
</html>
